Bank of America's Ongoing Support of Special Olympics
The bank's relationship with the organization and its athletes spans three decades — and continues this year.

BANK OF AMERICA has partnered with Special Olympics for more than 30 years, as part of our longstanding commitment to building a more diverse and inclusive society. We are proud to deepen this relationship as a Platinum Partner of the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games, which took place this past July in Seattle, and a Gold Partner of the historic Special Olympics 50th Anniversary activities, also in July. Through the power of sports, Special Olympics helps people with intellectual disabilities to discover new strengths, skills and successes, both on the playing field and in life.
“I’ve seen firsthand the transformative power that Special Olympics programs can have on individuals with intellectual disabilities,” says Bank of America vice chairman and Special Olympics board member Anne Finucane. “Together, we’re helping these young men and women build a foundation of confidence, leadership and employment skills to achieve their goals on and off the field.”
Our commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion starts within
the company. Bank employees are passionate about supporting Special
Olympics athletes and have donated nearly 50,000 volunteer hours to
the organization since 2010. In addition, our Support Services team
employs approximately 300 individuals with intellectual disabilities
who deliver services core to the company’s business operations. The
team includes athletes who have competed in Special Olympics games at
